The Rochdale Canal from Rochdale to Castleton

On Monday 1 July 2002 the Rochdale Canal was reopened to through navigation from Sowerby Bridge to Manchester.

This was the first boat for 50 years to pass through the canal at Rochdale to complete that journey. on 1 July 2002

This location, just off the Oldham Road, is refered to as the "Port of Rochdale"
Autumn 2002 near Arrow Mill between Castleton and Edinburgh Way.
